Three Tips for 4th of July Fun
I originally posted this on July 3, 2015, but thought you could all use a laugh. Happy Independence Day!
I see a lot of lists on how to improve your business, how to live stress free, etc., etc., and these lists are usually LONG. I don't have time for that. Plus, if your list is really that life changing you need to get to it.
That said, Saturday is the 4th of July. Time to celebrate our independence from Great Britain with picnics, parades, and fireworks. Today I've comprised 3 tips for guaranteed fun on the 4th of July.
1. Don't try and make your own fireworks.
Recently, I saw an article on how to make your own sparklers. Really? Sparklers are like $2-$3 dollars for a package of 8. I'm all about DIY, but seriously sparklers? Go make some strawberry jam instead.
And whatever you do don't try and make your own explosives. Not only could you end up on some FBI list you could end up like this dude:
2. Lower Your Expectations
My assistant also owns her own yoga studio and is always telling me to lower my expectations and I will be pleasantly surprised. This is good advice for any holiday gathering. Sometimes you may have the best intentions, but since we can't control every detail, things don't always worked out as planned. I am guilty of this and get caught up trying to please everyone, now I just take care of myself. If you're not having fun, go soak your head. Relax and enjoy the imperfection.
3. Eat Some Fruit
This may seem like a strange tip, but it's great! If I have to recommend one fruit it would be watermelon (unless you are diabetic then eat strawberries). Why watermelon? It's delicious! Think about it have you ever woken up the morning after the 4th of July and said to yourself "I shouldn't of eaten so much watermelon"? Nope. If you drink too much it will secretly bring you electrolytes and water. If you're a kid in will give you energy to swim your heart out. If you are elderly, it could potentially make you regular. If all else fails, you can have a watermelon seed spitting contest that everyone can participate in! Go eat some watermelon, but don't do this:
Have a happy 4th of July!!!
