Man I was suppose to post yesterday and well I didn’t. Oh well.
So this week is madness. I glazed fired yesterday and the kiln is cooling for a late afternoon unloading. This past weekend was my first REAL weekend off this summer and it was great! I caught up on my sleep and read.
This is what the rest of the week is looking like for me
Today (Tuesday) quit messing around on the computer.
I have orders for the gallery shop of the Kalamazoo Institute of Art and the Art Center of Battle Creek. Last week I was contacted by Yuko Makuuchi from the Craft and Folk Art Museum in Los Angeles and she would like some of my work from an upcoming exhibition so need to make that work as well.
This week I will also be working on my red earthenware rocking chair for ArtPrize. My piece will be on displayed at Family Capital Management. I will set-up my piece on September 21 and the event begins on the 23rd. I plan on capturing this work in progress so check back for updates.
The third project I want to work on and will enlist my niece, Molly, with helping me is molds. I made translucent porcelain shot glasses last year for Halloween and want to remake my molds. Last year I had designs cast into the glasses but because they were so fine I had to carve out of little bit of gunk and ended up crushing a lot of product. This year I’m just going to draw decals of the same designs and fired them on. So I need new smooth molds, and a wee bit bigger since the porcelain shrank so much.
Enough about me what are you doing in the studio this week?
