Well I did it. I broke down and called the Dr. this morning. I have an appointment at 9:30 tomorrow morning. I woke up yesterday morning with hip pain again. I thought it was gone for good when I bought new shoes in June, but alas it has returned.
This pain has being coming on and off since January, but yesterday my mother poked me in the hip and I almost burst into tears. That was the breaking point. She didn’t mean to hurt me, but she was recently diagnosed with bursitis and thought I may have it. She may be right.
I’ve narrowed it down to 3 options: sciatica, piriformis syndrome, or bursitis. I don’t think it’s sciatica though because I’ve been pretty careful with my back and now throw my pots standing up. But I don’t know. For awhile I thought it was piriformis syndrome because I have severely flat feet and the pain went away when I bought new shoes. (Yes, I have custom made orthotics.)
I had an art fair Saturday and when I woke up Sunday morning my hip HURT. I didn’t think of bursitis until yesterday with the death poke to the hip. I rested my hip yesterday with aspirin, ice, minimal walking, and pain spray.
There is no quick fix for any of these problems, whichever it may be. They all suggest rest to heal. I know how I hurt my hip. I didn’t take any time off after Christmas. After 2 months of long hours, I irritated something and it hasn’t had a chance to heal. I could probably take 2 weeks off the end of August to rest my hip, but I really don’t want to. BUT I rather take the time off and heal properly that to continue to aggravate my hip.
So just remember we aren’t machines, we’re people!
