My summer 2010 art fair season kicks off this weekend in Birmingham, MI. I made a point to buy rubber rain boots this year, because last year it rained so hard my booth flooded. Of course it’s suppose to be sunny this weekend, but I’m still bringing my boots.
Last night I had to teach. It’s already week 5 or 6! Time flies. I usually offer a summer class, but seldom does it fill. For this summer semester I already have have 4 students signed up and only need 7 for the class to run. The local community college (Kalamazoo Valley Community College) just cut their ceramics program drastically. This in turn means that the ceramics departmemt at the KIA (Kalamazoo Institute of Arts) is experiencing an influx of students. That’s great news because hopefully the administration will expand our studio space. We already have 3 studios but could easily fill 2 more. Remember winters are long, we need to keep distracted.
Next weekend I’ll be at the East Lansing Art Festival and have been working hard all week to prepare. I also have to ship more work to Pewabic Pottery for their Home and Garden Show. Here are some new steamboat vases.
