On January 9, the invitational Art the Works…An Inspiration opened at the Ella Sharp Museum in Jackson, MI. I’m new to this whole “invitational” thing and am still excited by being invited to show my work.
Ella Sharp was an amazing woman and upon her death requested that her home become a museum and her 400 acre farm a park. The grounds contain 5 galleries, the Granary restaurant, Dibble One-Room Schoolhouse, Eli Stilson Log House, and Merriman-Sharp Tower Barn.
Four other members of the West Michigan Potters Guild were also invited to show their work.
First up is Jacob Koster with his fish platter.
Then we have tile artist Mary Kuilema.
A friend of mine Janelle Songer, from Ferndale, MI, was also invited to participate. It is an interesting collaboration of work and if you get a chance you should go to the show, it runs through March, 20.
